I have a lot different approach then all of you.

I have a 2000 Toyota 4Runner now with 305,000 miles. I never took it in for schedule maintenance. Every 5,000 I had the oil changed at lube stop and the tires rotated for free at NTB because I bought the tires there.

At 105,000 miles I had the dealer put in new spark plugs and again at 240,000 miles. I had the timing belt replaced at 170,000 miles.

It’s a Toyota it’s built to last. Why waste $$$$$ every 5,000 miles.

My dealership where I bought has a $49.99 price listed online that I am hoping is somewhat constantly applicable. However it says there is an upcharge for synthetic. Haven't called to find out what that upcharge would be as I'm not nearly to 5k yet, but can't imagine it would be too much more, at least not enough to get to the prices some of you have been quoted.
Unfortunately this place is a little far away, so when I get close to 5k, I'll call around and see what the going rate is.
I would do it myself, but for $60 or $70 it is worth it to have someone else do it and get the rotation and inspections with it, IMO. Much more and I have to start thinking about doing it myself and forgoing the tire rotation, or buying the oil + filter and taking it to my off-brand mechanic.

I expect $30 for the oil change, and if they want to get another $20 for tire rotation or wtv then so be it. If it's going to be over $50, I'll just go to walmart or something. (Though I would prefer to do it at the dealership.) Even though it was still free for me, I could have had my service intervals for my BMW done for $100 each. That's a lot more oil, and longer intervals than this, so I would never pay that for a toyota.

The same service for my Odyssey in the same dealer is extra $3, so $31. That includes taxes!

So, this is my first Toyota and I am so spoiled by the low cost of Honda maintenance!!!

When I was debating if I should get a Jetta TDI or a Prius here in this forum, I can't forget how many times people here were saying that despite of the fact VW pays for all maintenance up to 30K miles in the Jetta, the Prius maintenance was still going to cost a lot less in a long term. I hope the several ones who stressed that out here were not talking garbage…. or maybe they were!
+1!

The dealer told me my first change was a freebie and with the new 10k interval... I'm expecting to not have to pay until I reach 15k miles.
Heck, with all the reading I'm doing here on pc, I actually read a thread about installing your own fog lights. I was considering trying it!!!! Perhaps I should "practice" on an oil change first.

I have always bought my tires at costco and they rotate them for free. I have a feeling if I took them my new car and asked, they would either start taking care of me now for free or for a very reasonable price.

Default Price of oil change

Local Advance auto parts has promotion for 5 Qt. /$30 on Mobil 1 0W20. Toyota oil filter is $3.99 + tax.
Toyota dealer informed me that if I bring oil and oil filter, they will charge me $12 for labor. This is a great deal! I usually do the oil chages myself; however, with this price, it is worth it to go and ask dealer to do it!
As far as tire rotation and ballance, you can go to any Discount Auto store and buy lifetime tire ballance and rotation of you tires for $62 (warranty of tires included).

I do my own work using Mobil 1 oil and larger capacity Mobil 1 oil filters. Oil is purchased at Costco. Filters are purchased on line from Kragen. I had the dealer do an oil change one time - they charged $10 Liter for oil and overfilled the oil.

But only if you buy tires from them, right?
