Default Tip for DIY oil changes

Last summer I had prostate surgery, I say this so you won't think I'm completely crazy and if you do I hope you would at least give me a free pass. I purchased 24 absorbent pads that measure approx 30X30 inches, these have one side plastic and the other has the absorbent material. These were purchased for my home recovery and I only used a few. Found a use for them, place them with the drain pan on top and spread it so I have the area is fully covered. If I miss the pad something bad must have happened. When oil change is complete if pad looks OK I fold it and use it again, if not I wrap any rags, etc and dispose of it. You can get them in any medical supply store or online.

Interesting and creating use of materials on hand.

I also just got an urge to go drink a quart of cranberry juice.

You'll laugh but when the kids were in diapers I used to use one to catch the oil spills from removing the oil filter in a Miata. A Miata even way back in 1990 has a plastic pan under the engine like a Prius, but without the neat door.
I think those blue pads are called chucks or something similar? You can even buy pads for boats that won't absorb water, but will absorb oil.
