On Costco.ca X Ice-x2i is $145.99 CDN plus $60 off plus $15 installtion charges
Any other pricing out there, it atleast 2.5 hr to get to the US so I think that is out of range
Thinking of putting them on the stock wheels and would like to get new 17" next summer
Have to shot an email to the dealer they said he would get me winter tires at their cost

I get about 150" of snow a year, not nearly as much as you I'm sure but I drove a 2005 Prius for 115,000 miles and without snow tires it was terrible because of the traction control. With studded snow tires I much prefer driving it over my 4Runner because of handling and the skid control. Not much clearance so if the snow gets deep its all over, but on icy, snow packed roads and anything under say 4" and studded snows my experience has been excellent. With Snows without the studs its not as good but still more than adequate.

Was by Costco today, priced out Michelin X-ice II P185 65R 15
installed balanced with taxes in Ontario $657.91CDN
black steelies $189.79

Total $847.70

Still need to decided if I want 17" for the summer

Was on tire rack much cheaper , and with the $CDN getting close to par, may be time order some from the States

I wonder if there should be a separate section, sticky for winter tires, and maybe a separate just for summer wheels & tires?

I had good experience with Michelin Alpins on my previous car; Now I bought Nokians RW on original Prius 16" alloy rims just yesterday. I am anxious to see how is my Pri going to perform at the snowy mountains - will probably try in two weeks or so .

I hope you mean 195. The new Prius runs on 195, not 185.

Nokia Wr II. A GREAT all season, with an aggressive tread, but with no gas mileage hit. It is the only tire I would put on a Prius in Snow country!

A bit spendy, but what is a $100 extra for four over the live of the tire?

Icarus

We just drove across the northern tier and had much snow in N. Dakota. Temps right around freezing, the snow mixing with freezing rain, turning to a glazed mess. The Prius was glued to the road at 70 mph! I've driven it through 6" of dry cold snow and it was like a tank!

wouldn't the 17inch give you more height clearance vs the 15 inch in the snow?
