Question Whither Octane in the GenIII ?

Any observations/recommendations re using one Octane over another? Not just fuel economy, but performance as well.

I tend to baby a new car and have thus far been using premium.

Several threads on this already, and the consensus is that the car's designed to run or regular, so use regular. Some owner's have reported lower mileage running premium. Me, I just use Shell regular and get my 5% rebate in free gas with my Shell Visa card.

Quick Note: There is a typo in some owners manuals, it is supposed to read 87 Octane, not 88.

I think the higher octane will give you less bang for your buck. Higher octane may have lower BTU rating. Anyway less explosive means less bang.
