Our marine diesel engine is beltless. Timing is done through a gear train. The coolant pump is operated by a pushrod. There is no oil pump or fuel pump.

We added a belt to drive an alternator, but that isn't a standard part of the engine.

I just read the info concerning Chevron's patent ownership of the NiMH battery technology...

It is sad but true. I have made noise about it since 2004. I believe the patent will be expiring in a couple of years.

I just wrote my Congressman and hope others will, also.
