Friends: 0 | Did you get any hassle from the dealer when you canceled it? I just may do this before the end of the week. That would definitely make my car payment go down which is a plus for me. I just need to call my loan office and see how this turns out. |

They asked me why, and I said I had checked and the price was too high. The dealership responded with, "Really, we think this price is great." I responded with, "It is 50% higher than I can get elsewhere." At that point, they simply filled out the form to cancel the policies (Warranty and maintenance) and I'll get my deposit back (but I'm not holding my breath for that happening quickly - we will see). | |

Friends: 0 | I paid $895 for the "protection plus" (paint, leather and carpet treatment). It was too high, and I mentioned this to the dealership. They said that the paint protection was 'baked on'. "Really? I saw them applying the material with cloths just now." Dealership, "Well, they told me it was baked on." No, it is not a baked on process. The Dealership does not have 'ovens' they put the car into. They techs just open the bottle and apply. In fact, they left an 'extra application kit' in my trunk that I can apply later when it starts to fade. It was probably about $100 worth of material that I spent $800 having someone put on the car for me. But they did do a nice job putting the material on and I like my car, so I'm not going to feel bad about it. But I would have felt better if it had been $400 instead of $895 for the Protection Plus. |

Friends: 0 | I have a question for those who purchased in Connecticut. Did the dealer add a dealer fee of about $398. Had one all picked out for MSRP in NY but had to go to Ct. to get acceptable color. Dealer there claims ALL Ct. dealers add an almost $400 dealer fee on top of the msrp. NY dealer only added $45 to regester car. Ct. dealer does not even have to do that since I need to register it myself in NY. I don't have much choice since I need to get in on the CFC program and they have a color I prefer. I just want to know if he is giving me a line so I can comment on it when I pick up my car this week. |

Friends: 0 | I think that if one has room in your budget, locking in the Toyota (not indep) 7 year/0 ded Extended Warranty for $1,055 now is prudent. I really doubt in 3 years, the price will be this low given people do pay dealers up to $1,800 today. Should the outside party on this web site raise or end their offer, dealers have no reason to go lower and/or bargain. I paid more in 04 for my Avalon EW then I did for the Prius. I traded the Avalon so Toyota pro-rated the amount not used and refunded. Way back I had one on my Ford Exploder and it was the only reason anyone bought it privately...because they had knew they would not pay anything out of pocket if their mechanic missed something. Regardless of whether or not your invoice says you have 30 or 60 days, you can call Toyota and cancel for $25 or $50 and re-purchase through this site. Last edited by pdxrose; 08-04-2009 at 02:41 AM.
