Might be a new part to add to my parts list... hmmmm.
I be willing to price set.

Since I have to have my front bumper replaced (see "Mattresses and Priuses ..." & "Body repair estimate ...") I will inquire about the added cost of painting those grey plastic foglight covers with the same auto body color. It shouldn't cost too much, do you think?

I won't even have the car until 7/27.

Can anyone tell me how easy it is to remove these pieces OR maybe even post pictures of them?

Once I see them I might be able to determine if they should be fiberglass or plastic. I've also sent a message to a guy I know that makes automotive plastics.

Thanks!

How far is Oregon from West Virginia?
Could Martin37 send the ends of his bent bumper to you to use as a dummy bumper?
I don't know how damaged it is but ...

Not too far, only about 2,700 miles.

That's just a bit farther than driving from Adelaide to Melbourne to Sydney to Brisbane to Cooktown.

I'm sitting here laughing. All this clutter about fog lights, when the reality is in North America it is -ILLEGAL- to have proper fog lights. The law says in Canada and the US the headlights must be on when the fog lights are on. No point then in having lamps that doen't reflect back at you when the headlamps, which do reflect back in fog, have to be on!

Looks to me like you are all "spinning your wheels."

I would like to have day time running lights (especially LED) in the fog lamp space. Anyone have any ideas on how to do that?

For $22 at Napa, I got a couple truck LED lights with boots. Used a knife and file to gradually get the size right. Unbolted bottom cover for access. Attached wires to top marker light. See manual for removing a couple pieces on passenger side.

Two gaping unpainted holes -- to be exact. However, it's not a big deal to buy the Prius V foglight covers -- about $80 as I recall. Then install the Prius fogs or a suitable alternative. The problem with cutting holes and fitting fogs into those horrid blanks is that the alignment is not right. As for practicality I believe it's far better to install your own fogs with independent switch rather than have them wired to the headlights -- not only do you have much more effective lighting for actual fog, but you also have the option of using them as daytime running lights.
However there are several threads on this very subject somewhere in this forum.
