Friends: 0 |  Re: braking in reverse I've had the braking problem since I got my 2011 Prius in late August. To date, it's occurred about 7 or 8 times. I took it to my Toyota dealer a couple days ago and they kept the car for a day but being that it's intermittent in nature, the symptom didn't show up. I did give them a link to this thread and apparently they looked at it and spoke to Toyota's engineering dept. So anyone who experiences the problem, please contact your dealer and please post here. Maybe one day we'll see a recall or Tech Service Bulletin on it. |

Friends: 0 | Re: braking in reverse This has happened since day 1 and still happening. Always step on the brake firmly, driveway slope +/0/-, the reslting ride is jerky. This is such a fundamental maneuver that there is no reason for resorting to a "work-around-mode". This is a fundamental design-debug error that was allowed to get into production. It needed a fixiwhen the first testing was implemented. |

It's not as if replacing parts would fix it since the cars all do it under the right circumstances. I haven't noticed it in several months due to a change in parking habits due to working at a different job site. Someone should be able to duplicate it if they want to spend time figuring out what to do and how many minutes to sit in the car before backing up to get the grabby brake syndrome on a consistent basis. | |
