Default Why'd they have to go and ruin that perfectly good Prius?

I went to the dealer today to pick up our plates and wanted to vomit when I saw this outside:

And speaking of ruining the Prius, I almost ruined mine today. I was in a right turn only lane with two lanes of traffic to my left. Light turns green, cars move forward, I turn right and I need to get into the left lane to make the next left. My husband starts screaming "LOOK OUT" I suddenly see a car in front and to my left side barreling at me. I swerve out of the way and slam on my brakes avoiding impact. But it was so close.

I guess he turned left in front of all of the incoming traffic into the left lane I was turning into and he turned at such an angle that I didn't see him. I was shaking and in tears all the way home because I just don't understand how I didn't see him. And we were both screaming at each other. Not a fun drive today.

Edit: I should say I did turn into teh right lane first and then put my signal on to get into the left lane. I did not turn directly into the left lane. Going to be extra careful with that blind spot now.

I saw that car outside the new Yankee Stadium when I went to a game last week.

It's a promotional thing, as the Toyota Prius is "The Official Hybrid Vehicle of the New York Yankees".

I wanted to have my picture taken by it, but I didn't have a camera on me.

Go Yankees.

EDIT: VERY SORRY FOR YOUR NEAR ACCIDENT TODAY.

You can photoshop yourself into this one.

I grew up in Cleveland, so I am an Indians fan.

Ahh ... I went to Oberlin College 34 miles southwest of Cleveland ... I remember going to a game one spring day at the old Municipal Stadium ... dark, cold, windy and wet ... 80,000 seats, 75,000 of them empty.

Next summer, maybe on the way to or from Hybridfest, I would love to go to the new ballpark formerly known as Jacobs Field.

Are there still a lot of openings for grief counselors in the Nation?

My brother and his wife both graduated from Oberlin, he in '88 & she in '89. Maybe you know them, maybe I know you. lol.

That big baseball makes the 15" wheels look way too small! Should've gone with a V.

Lora -

So sorry about your close call. I've had two so far with my car - 10 weeks old. The old "stomach in the throat" thing. Things go in threes, so I'm being extra special real good. But - without getting into another thread topic - the thick angled windshield frames on the '10 are a bit of a blindspot challenge and take a lot of getting used to.

My neighbor bought a '10 two weeks after me - Red III. And he's a "wicked" huge Yankee fan from NJ. Just had to copy your pic and send it over. Will make his day. Thanks.

BTW you should keep a barfbag in your car - in the event of another Yankee sighting or another close call....

Maybe they will give them away instead of bobbleheads at the next promotional game.
