rattle from driver side dash

I'm getting a rattle from here and it slowly getting worse. Started out just over bumps now it is rattling even when the gas kicks in when hitting getting on a highway. Ideas?

wow, i'm not the only one! for me it only happens in certain speeds and road conditions; can't consistently reproduce it. it's soft but noticeable. if i lightly pound on the area above the vent then i can hear a rattle. when i go in for my first oil change i plan to ask the dealer to take a look at it.

I can't help you with the rattle but my GENIII is also rattling at several places (from dash 2 doors...) What i can't understand is that toyota produces such an innovative car and can't manage to make it 'rattle-free' inside...
Don't these japanese guys do several severe tests on this before launching this things ???
Nice car but it's interior sounds make me crazy !
Only thing i can do at the moment is put the volume on 30 so i don't hear all those things :-/

When I hit the area it rattles as well!

Please check the prop rod under the hood. That has been the culprit for many rattles!

Just adding to the list I have it in my Prius IV I was kind of thinking it was the latch mechanism of one of the glove boxes but have not verified that. I need to get the wife to drive while I check it out, problem is she is not keen to drive my "Starship"

Not the hood rod. It is safe and snug

The glove box latch is a good theory but the rattle I'm getting is coming from the driver side

I have the same rattle from the passenger side air vent. The plastic fins rattle easily. I just went to my dealer and they said it's fine...but bring it in again and they will take it apart and put some foam to help fix it. I also have a consistent rattle in my center console storage area. I think it's from the small plastic points that lock it in place when you close the armrest.

Unfortunately as I have read on other posts the genIII has rattles and they are because of the recycled plastics which are brittle and lightweight. The quality of the plastic parts isn't great. The cars interior looks better than it is.
I've owned many cars and never had a rattle problem like this car.
