None required in WV. I made sure that when I got mine that my dealer didn't trade for it. I bought my son a Tc a few years back and they got if off a dealer in Ohio. When it showed up it had a bracket. It seems a shame to ugly up a nice car with these.

If you have one on order, ask the dealer to have them take off the option for front license plate bracket install and the port shouldn't install it on the one your waiting on.

I have pics of mine fresh off transporter and no front brackets on it...So they most likely are dealer installed. They are required in Idaho

Yeah, I was beginning to think that, so now it's pretty much confirmed. Good to know who in fact does put them on.

I would have loved to not had them put on but here in the city you'd just be looking to give the cops a reason to pull you over... And then once they have you pulled over for that, they'd get you for the tinted windows as well.

They are ham radio plates so that would explain the wait, as the prison system that manufactures them is no doubt slow; even though they have plenty of workers!

I'm going to hate screwing those big self-tapping sheet metal screws into that big plastic bumper, ruining the nice aerodynamic look. You say you'll be mounting them on the lower edge? Don't lessen any of the already-too-little ground clearance!
I have access to galvanized sheetmetal and am going to bend basically a piece wide enough to be flush behind the plate and a horizontal leg long enough to tuck under the leading edge of the bumper. It shouldn't interfere with the ground clearance. I'll post pictures once I have the car and the piece is done. Anyone can go to a local sheetmetal shop and have them bend a piece and just drill a few holes. I just want something cleaner that the stock bracket right in the middle of the bumper.

Thanks for all of the replies.

I purchased mine in Pennsylvania off the showroom floor. The bracket was in a sealed plastic bag in the back of the car, along with the cargo net and first aid (so glad I paid extra for that little gem- not). There were no holes drilled.

The first instruction my salesman has from me when my car arrives is to take the bracket out of the car and lock it in his desk and hold it until I get there to pick up the car. He will also give my instructions to the prep person to not mount it since that is their normal custom.

I might try to make a flange out of the bottom of the plate itself by bending a 90 degree flange into it which I will attach to the bottom, less visible face, of the fascia (near where it is suppose to mount with the factory designed bracket). Some cutting of the flange and bending of the plate will also be necessary due to the bumper curving in 2 directions. I have some old plates to practice on before I alter my new one. Foam to protect the fascia from the plate. I'll try for the best aerodynamics possible while leaving the front of the fascia hole free in case I ever sell to someone from another state.

I removed the plate holder and placed two headless screws in the threaded holes. The screws and the car are silver. It looks much better and I wouldn't be surprised if I am getting up to +1 MPG from the aero advantage.

I got this square plastic bracket about the size of a license plate in a blue plastic bag with my GA car. We don't have front plates either.

Does anyone know is the screws are 6m?
Need longer screws since the screws are to short now that I have a clear plastic protector on it

I asked for mine not to be installed - it's part of dealer PDI I thought. AZ doesn't require a front plate, so no reason to put the bracket on.
