Friends: 0 | I take it that it is a part of the receiving process that the dealership installs the license plate bracket on the front bumper. For those without, did you work with your salesperson to make sure that the bracket wasn't installed? Yes, I know it's illegal but have plans to fabricate an alternative that will simple bolt to the bottom edge of the bumper. Thanks in advance. I plan on picking up a Blizzard Pearl V with Ash interior and Navigation. Dave |

Friends: 9 | I think it is the port that installs them, but like 99% sure of that, could be wrong. If you have one on order, ask the dealer to have them take off the option for front license plate bracket install and the port shouldn't install it on the one your waiting on. |

Friends: 0 | I live in Pennsylvania and there is no requirement for a license plate in the front. When I got the car there was no plate on the front and we made no special request to the dealer not to put it on. |

Friends: 1 | I am waiting for my car and I told the dealer I don't want the front license plate bracket install on mine. He can't he can't put a word on it for me, because like what other people said they are usually install at the port. But he told me to remind him about it everytime when we speak. |

Friends: 0 | When buying mine, I asked the dealer not to install the front bracket. My state does not have front plates (AR), but the state I bought in does (MO). When I picked up the car, they gave me the new/plastic wrapped bracket separately and no holes were drilled in the bumper. To me, this says that it is a dealer install item, not port. |

Friends: 9 | Maybe the port just puts it in the car for vehicles destined for a state where they are not required and installs them for states where they are required then? I was led to believe the port handles things like this when the cars come off the ships. |

Friends: 0 | Same in Oklahoma as well. No plate requirement and no mount was installed but it was inside the trunk storage are if we needed it later. |

Friends: 9 | So maybe it is the port who has them, but just puts them in the car for the dealership to actually mount if they want to. Makes more sense in reality... |

Friends: 1 | Here in California it's the law to have a front plate. When we picked up our 2010 from the lot, the plastic frame was sitting in the cargo area and had not been installed. That was June 6th and we still have not received our plates. They are ham radio plates so that would explain the wait, as the prison system that manufactures them is no doubt slow; even though they have plenty of workers! I'm going to hate screwing those big self-tapping sheet metal screws into that big plastic bumper, ruining the nice aerodynamic look. You say you'll be mounting them on the lower edge? Don't lessen any of the already-too-little ground clearance! Last edited by radiocycle; 10-12-2009 at 10:38 AM. |

Friends: 2 | I've been "Monked"! "They" mounted my front plate holder slightly off-center. I thought the CA DMV would assign standard plates while you wait the 4-6 months for your personalized plates. My normal plates arrived in about 6 weeks, along with my "real" registration. |
