The above pretty much sums it up. Fuel is creeping up again!

While I wouldn't hesitate to buy a Prius on safety grounds you might want to wait a bit if you can for financial reasons. It looks as if the piling on is going to continue for a while. The Orange County, CA. district attorney filing suit against Toyota today seriously upped the ante and probably will spark a nationwide rash of local government lawsuits against Toyota. Especially where the DAs are elected.

If things progress in the direction they seem to be going I can see a time in a few months where dealers are going to have to be much more aggressive in making deals to move their cars at least for a while. If you can wait a real deal might be waiting for you.

In this area cars can be had for under invoice, including the Prius. Build a car & get dealer quotes from www.aaa.com. Gas prices are increasing. Production will be trimmed. The auto market may not have hit bottom but it is extremely difficult to recognize the bottom when you are in it. If you can get what you want for what you want to pay, the time is right.

I have the insurance money and it is enough to buy a new one, however the recent news is worrying me. Such as that Prius that started speeding out of control in Cali not too long ago.
I need a hybrid, seeing how I drive 400 miles every 3 weeks. Though pretty much everything around is on recall. I loved my old Prius to death and I'd hate to not buy another, but I am really concerned about this problem.

I am unsure what to do, does anyone have advice. Currently I am borrowing my father's Tacoma which is on recall for a cracked frame, so I am not very safe as it is anyways. Our whole family owns Toyotas and 2 of 3 of them are on recall.
Oy, this has left me in a pickle
IMHO you shouldn't base your decision on the news events. I don't believe Prius will have such problems. They did have the brake problem but thats now fixed.

I like the Fusion Hybrid, too, but found it was not
worth it for $30K-ish. I was getting 33 mpg on my
company-provided 2010 Fusion and my daughter
is getting about the same on her 2009 Fusion. Since
the latter cost only $16.5K, it was very hard to
accept almost double the cost for the Fusion
Hybrid's expected 40ish (37/41 EPA) mpg.

I decided *not* to buy the 2010 Prius. The 2010
model features a new mechanical design, which
improves mileage. However, I hated the "new
improved" flying bridge interior design. The flying
bridge is not space efficient, it isolates you from
the passenger, and the MFD shrunk.

I went with a used, low mileage 2009 Prius.
That gave me the best combination of product
maturity, MFD size, and price.

don't buy unless you're positive it's what you want. why go by others opinions? won't help with buyers remorse. take your time looking at all options so you're comfortible making the right choice.

Buy a Prius 2010 - it's a good choice maybe one of the best.
