What about those cars that you have to pull up the pin to unlock or open the door, heh. You people crack me up. Whats to stop the bad person from breaking the window and then pulling the handle to open the door? And finally, if your passengers just opened the door and jumped out while you are moving, wouldn't you get better FE?

It is a safety issue. You are assured of easy exit even if the car IS moving. All cars work this way in the front seat if they have automatic locks. Otherwise, imagine what would happen in a panic when your car is rolling towards a cliff!
