Friends: 9 | Nope, it stays on once the car is running. Maybe it goes off if you turn the dimmer down all the way but if it did then you'd have no dash lights like speed etc... Not sure if it does though. If it bothers you enough, you could do what people did in their early GII's that had a light showing the temperature was below 37 degrees, and put electrical tape over it. |

Friends: 3 | My Prius often is 'ready' when no obvious noise tells me so, the engine might be off, but it will still move if I press on the pedal. For folks used to a 'normal' car, (my father has been driving 70 years) a reminder that the car is ready even though the engine is off could be a lifesaver. (Having the ready light go out once you are moving seems safer than just x seconds after you start it. Mind you I try to get Head lights, Cruise, Recirc and Ready all lit myself)) |
