Default Antenna schematics on the US 2010

Does anyone have access to the stock antenna (AM FM) schematics?

We know the EU has an antenna amp. I looking to both locate that amp, find if it powered and how, and possibly swap it.... If you can help, many I think will appreciate it (of course me included ().

TIA!!!

Rolf

Follow the beige antenna lead that plugs into the receiver assembly, back to a white connector, which is L36. This appears to be to the upper left, behind the radio assembly. That connector plugs into the antenna amplifier. There is no separate power lead on the schematic, so if it is powered, it is powered through the antenna lead itself (which is somewhat common for antenna amplifiers).

It appears in the schematic that the antenna is directly attached to the amplifier (no connector), so I'm not sure you'd be able to replace it.

Nothing on the TIS site?

Similarly, I was planning to explore (eventually) the cellular antenna connection used for Safety Connect to see if I can couple my cellphone to it for better reception. I assume it also goes through an amp, which may be the same box.

I guess you didn't see anything when you had your dash off? I assume you peeked around in the rear cargo area too. It shouldn't be that well hidden.... Or could it be?

Are the Safety Connect connectors also shown on the schematic?

Thanks.

Yes, on a separate TIS schematic (EWD). If you're wondering about the cell phone and GPS antennae, they both show as going directly into L19, a white 38-pin connector, which plugs into the "Telematics Transceiver". Unfortunately, I haven't found exactly where this is, in any location diagrams. Sorry!

Thanks for the help. Once I get my Prius I'll poke around and see if I can find it.

Hrmm - I don't get it - an antenna amp should have some power - something somewhere? Or could this antenna just run straight back to the roof

I know I bought a DTV antenna for my car - it has an antenna, but also 12VDC power and ground...

Power can be run in the same coax as the signal, think GPS antenna and you satellite TV LNA's for example.

So, the $10K question remains - how does the antenna get its power....
