With USB, I can transfer files of any type from my laptop to my desktop computer, transfer files from my desktop hard drive to an external backup hard drive, transfer photos from my digital camera to my PC, print photos from my digital cameras, etc..

So what useful things can I use USB for in my 2010 Prius?

I believe the only capability that the USB interface has in the Prius is for:

- iPod play & control (perhaps other players, too, someday with a firmware update)
- Playing music files (mp3 or WMV) off a USB stick or a player that can "appear" as a USB drive

It does not appear that it has any kind or transfer/write capability to the device, nor playback of other types of files such as photo or video (but those are the limitations of the NAV unit, and probably not the USB interface.)
