Friends: 0 | IIRC I saw something in this forum to the effect that the gen1 Prius uses a mechanical contact wiper along a resistor as means of throttle control. If this is correct, it seems a bit retro even for a 2002 model; an optical or magnetic (Hall effect?) solution would've been better. Has this design been changed in the newer Prius generations? Friends: 11 | Gen2 Prius went to a set of Hall effect sensors. I would assume the Gen3 uses a similar design. |
