Default 2003 Prius Traction Battery Swap

I have a 2003 with 109k. Runs fine, but dealer said red triangle code indicated the hybrid battery was leaking. Anybody know of a website where I can get directions & illustrations on how to remove / install another battery?

Hi.
Maybe you have to buy this book:
"2001-2003 TOYOTA PRIUS HV BATTERY DISMANTLING MANUAL"
(just 9$), it probablly tell you everything about battery, here is a link:

Leaking battery on a gen1 one is covered under a TSB. Dealership is obligated to fix leaks without charge if under warranty. If this is your regular dealership I would try to get them to do the TSB for free. It's likely that it was leaking already undetected while still under warranty. You are only a bit past warranty so it wouldn't hurt to try.

I would be interested to know how they diagnosed the problem. What were the error codes? Never trust a dealer.

The special service campaign (SSC 40G) to prevent or correct electrolyte leakage was posted in this PriusChat thread by patrick Wong:

Hybrid battery replacement 2002 Prius

It does not specify a time or mileage limit for the free work to be done.
