Default Two hybrid Family

I've had my Prius for going on a year now. Still love it.

My 2006 Accord EX-V6 with NAV has just sat in the garage. Over two years old and only 9K on it. On the other hand, my wife drives her Pilot all around town, and the gas was killing us.

I loved that Accord, but it had to go. We picked up a 2008 Civic Hybrid a few weeks ago, and traded the accord. Lowered my car payment $100 a month, and since she is driving the Civic and parking the Pilot, the gas savings are HUGE!

I've only driven the Civic a few times. Quick comparisons;
  • Civic seems to have a smoother ride as far as suspension, but it is the NAV version, the Prius is not the Touring.
  • Prius has more room, front and back.
  • Civic operates different than the Prius. It always comes away from a stop on the ICE, then the electric kicks in. Prius is the other way around, so the Civic seems to have more pep.
The wife LOVES it. So if moma is happy, everyone is happy! color is almost the same as the Accord. Looks like a miniature version sitting in the garage.

So long old friend!

Congratulations with the Civic. With the Pilot sitting in the garage not being used, any plans on selling it?

Just picked up a 2008 Honda Hybrid today, the wife was impressed in the handling of the car, so traded in my beloved Mercury Marquis LS and came home in the Honda. So we're gonna have some fun now, me in the PRIUS and her in HONDA. I can't wait to see what kind of mileage the HONDA is going to give compared to the PRIUS. I'll keep everyone posted on the camparison.

Unlike the Prius, the HCH-II can be a bit more challenging at first for some drivers, at least in terms of reading and utilizing the hybrid specific instrumentation. If you do not mind the extra challenge from your wife, you may have her read the HCH-II bible:

Adapting Basic Hypermiling Techniques to the HCH-II

My wife read it and seemingly overnight she improved her mileag by 30-50%.

If she does read it, then be ready to work hard... and let the best person win

Cheers;

MSantos

Can you tell me what MPG you are getting. How much (in percentage) you are saving?
Thanks!

According to me, Civic is the best. Riding is real fun.
