Southern IL Prius Owners ( Or soon to be Owners) Unite!

Hi All,

I guess volunteering is all that is necessary. I would love to have a get together somewhere in the Southern IL Region so that we can:

1) Show each other our Vehicles.
2) Raise Consumer Awareness of the Prius(not Really needed but why not)
3) Raise Press awareness of the importance of good resource stewardship.

If there are any more Prius Drivers in the area please drop a note here. Maybe we could meet in July sometime.

I traveled from St. Louis to Effingham and didn't see a single Prius along the way. I did see a Classic before I left town. Are there any Prius Owners out there? You know who you are. I know that a lotta folks are getting Prii from our local dealer but many are from out of state (Hey FarNorth!) If you are from anywhere in South Central IL ( Below I-80) give a shout!

I live inbetween Joliet and Kankakee... I don't know if you'd consider that below I-80, but I guess it is, nearly. I wouldn't call that south central though...

I'd like to go to a meet if one gets organized though. Not that anyone will need me for an example of Driftwood Pearl.

the I-80 thing is a joke for those of us southern IL residents who lived in Chicago. I lived there 5 years and the folks up north thought IL ended at I-80. I am thinking a gathering may be possible at Champaign,IL. That is a large enough community and is on good interstates. That makes 2 Driftwoods so far.

Hoping to order a prius in the next couple of months. I see a lot of prii around the Collinsville area, especially on my commute to St. Louis. Glad to hear you are trying to raise the consciousness of Truck land.

I'm about to take the plunge with a deposit on a magnetic grey pkg 1. We're buying from a dealer in Mattoon, the only dealer willing to sell at "invoice". We're from the Jacksonville-Springfield area.

Nice! you went with KC Summers? They are a nice dealership. They just built a new showroom that is extremely eco-friendly. They are also holding auditions there for "The Great Race." lol

I live just north of Peoria which is of course below I-80. Hope some sort of meeting can take place in the future. That would be cool.
