Hi Kent,
The covers were custom made by a sheepskin cover specialist here in Brisbane[attachmentid=4236]. My wife does embroidery, so we have logo badges set into the backrests. You should be able to find a sheepskin specialist in cold old Melbourne, surely? I have attached a photo of them for you.

Regards,
John.

Looks beautiful. I see you don't have side air bags.
Well done Mrs sleeka.

Wow, they look absolutely fantastic Sleeka! I tried searching for people in Melbourne, the only ones I could find are generic ones, not custom made like yours.

Did you go through http://www.jumbucksheepskins.com/ by chance?

Nice Sheepskin covers, Sleeka. I went with sheepskins too, but not custom. The velour is just a bit fragile for everyday use. My centre console is starting to get a bit untidy where I lean on it, so I might go for sheepskin there too. I like the logos too.

Where did you get them made in Brisbane? I'm coming down there in a couple of weeks to get the steering recall done among other things.

Thanks for the appreciation, guys. Yes, we like them, too.

No, they were not done by Jumbuck, Kent, come up for a short holiday when you get your car and get a proper set fitted...and no, we don't have side airbags, Orf...ours is a base model. They can be done for side airbag cars, though.

Aussie, send me your email address on my Personal Mail (PM). I'll help you get the console cover organised in advance ready to be fitted while you are down here if you like. We can also organise the logos for you in your choice of colour if required.

Our car goes in for the steering recall next week. You have to go in for an inspection first, then they determine (a) if you need rectification work done; then book it in for the rectification if required.

Regards,
Sleeka.

My sheepskin covers were left over from my Commodore. They have the part where the side airbags are cut out. Makes them look a bit like a waistcoat. I had to modify the straps where they go down between the back and the seat so that they did not interfere with the seat wiring.
Sheepskin covers not only give that luxurious look they also feel great to sit on.

Hi, Orf.
Yes, genuine sheepskins are great in both hot and cold weather because of their luxurious pile, and the fact that they "breathe".
With the side seat airbags, the current way of doing the covers to allow the airbags to deploy is to weaken the skin itself by cutting staggered slits in it similar to a pattern (say) on an aluminium screen door. These cuts are invisible through the pile, the covers still hold their shape, but if/when the airbag goes off, it simply breaks the weakened area of the skin and deploys normally.

Regards,
Sleeka.

sleeka, did you ever get the repair manual on CD? I was wondering how useful it is? I note that a parts and repair manual is available on Ebay.
