Hi Orf,

Sorry this post isn't related to your question above, but I read in an earlier post on this topic that you had found a spreadsheet where you record all of your fuel data etc.

Are you able to get me a copy by chance?

Thanks,
Kent

sleeka, did you ever get the repair manual on CD? I was wondering how useful it is? I note that a parts and repair manual is available on Ebay.

Hi Orf.
No, I didn't get that one before, although this one looks fairly comprehensive. The seller only ships within the US though.

I ended up with about 5 different spreadsheets from around the world. The only one that I thought was worth persisting with is one from Singapore. I have modified it because the Singa Prius has a different size tank.
However, I found that there was a huge difference between the Last Tank readouts and the Lifetime Calculations. For example, my last tank readout was 4.58 L/100km whereas my lifetime readout was 5.34.
After scratching my head and becoming completely confused as to how to calculate fuel consumption figures I scrapped the Singa method and adopted my own - it is now independent of tank size. This has given me figures of Last Tank 5.449 and Lifetime of 5.577L/100km. These figures may seem high but most of my motoring is over short distances, stop/start over 5 km.
Another thing, my MFD fuel consumption got itself accidently reset while I was cleaning the MFD with the power on. Seeing how it was buggered up I then went on to use this feature to calculate fuel consumption over several separate trips. It is only since my last fill-up that I have left it alone to check it against my next calculated figures.
I also made the date of inputting entries in the spreadsheet automatic but it has a bug and resets to todays date every time the spreadsheet is opened. I have a fix for that but have not put in the script.
Also, I have not completed the definition page alterations to match my changes, so they could be misleading.
Once I have had time to fix these discrepencies, sure you can have a copy.
My tardiness in not completing the spreadsheet has been caused by the problems I have had in setting up my VOIP telephone system. I think I now have that working and am enjoying making all my phone calls for 1¢/minute.

Looks like another good idea shot to hell. I wonder if we can arrange a group buy of the service and parts manual and get someone State-side to do our shopping for us?

Just went to the Ebay site and found this:
**NEW** Buyer’s can now instantly Download and use this Prius Tech CD after purchase.
NO Hassle
NO Wait time.
NO Shipping Fees
After purchasing buyers will receive an email with download instructions.
I wonder if it is possible to burn a CD from the download?

Hi, Orf.

Why don't one of us but it, try to burn a CD, and then share the cost of burning duplicates and postage?
I'd be in it.

Regards,
John.

Hmmm. Let me think about that. On the surface seems like a good idea but I am not sure of the supplier.

Been working on the fuel spreadsheet and have nearly got it finished. Just need to tidy up the graphs.

Just had another look at the eBay site:

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/2003-2006-T...012576574QQrdZ1

Have you seen the part of the manual on display?

Hi Orf,

Yes, it looks like the factory manual page layout.
I have inquired with the seller about buying the download copy, and the size of the file. I'll let you know the answer.

John.

Thanks, John.
It will be interesting to see how complete the manual is.

Wow, they look absolutely fantastic Sleeka! I tried searching for people in Melbourne, the only ones I could find are generic ones, not custom made like yours.

Did you go through http://www.jumbucksheepskins.com/ by chance?

Hi Kent,
Try http://www.autofleece.com.au They will do mail orders from Brisbane. Tell Stan you were talking to John from the Toyota Car Club, and are interested in the embedded logos. We'll get them done for you if you want them. Make sure you tell him that the car has side airbags, though.

Regards,
Sleeka.

Hey John,

Thanks heaps for that. I'm still waiting on my car to come, but I'll definitely consider the car seats, they really do look unreal.

Are your ones the 'alpha' style?

Cheers,
Kent
