Default Hellow From JAPAN!!

Hellow from home town of Toyota :P Its NGO Japan.
I just move back to Japan from U.S and just about taking deliver my Prius. My Prius has been held at dealer distirbution center because Gov did not finish paper work for 2weeks or so. Thats why the dealer could not start deliver inspection process. Why goverment involved? Because if car is register under company name, and if register under company name goverment will give 2gran cash back! I cant wait my Prius!
Is any Japanese or owner who living in Japan?

Default Questions

What is the "JDM"? Is it an equipment level?

What does "G-Touring Selection silver" mean? Is it also an equipment level? How does it differ from standard Prius?

TV is available in Japan as factory fitted option? How much is it In US dollars or Euros?

How much does Prius cost in Japan?

Greetings from Finland

Default "I agree" button?

Hi Speedracer,
I am curious if the Japanese Prius navigation system requires you to
press an "I agree" button on the touchscreen every time you start the
car. Hopefully you know the answer, since that means you would have
your car.
Many of us with the US model hate that screen, especially after
"agreeing" several hundred times.

I am not an user of '04 Prius.
I hear the following thing.
Almost of Japanese users think that the IPA system is not helpful.
Because it need to setup takes time too much,
to operate looking at a back monitor is easier.

Sorry for confusion,
My Prius is just about week way to be deliver... but I will be U.S office for meeting. So as soon as return to Japan she should waiting for me.
Also its gonna be my B-day gift for myself
In Japan Prius can choose in between S or G trim level, also it can add option packagae called Touring Selection. Which include European market Prius spring (lower and stiffer) 16`rim, Spoiler Package and HID.
Option I selected was Navi package which inclued TV tuner and Intelegent parking Assistance, additonaly Side airbag, side window deflector, floor mat and Toyota GPS alarm system.
Selected color is Silver with Gray interior.
Total deilvery time for Prius is month and half
Total cost for delivery is $30k no discount but incentive of $1800 from goverment.
For Japanese Nav will be voice guided and screen remain show map but TV only work when car is parked. Navi did not ask the question like U.S model.
Some may ask GPS alarm system but its like On Star version of Toyota. If buy Navi option it can sign up G-book which like OnStar and additioanl option can choose Alarm system monitoring. It can track my car if stole or if alarm is trigger G-book call center will notifiy me.
Why I need that kind security but my home town is car theft captial in Japan. and too many smash and grab incident.

Default Re: Hellow From JAPAN!!

Hello.
I live in Kyoto and I took possession of a new Prius "S"model in March. My Japanese is not good enough to understand the Navigation System. Do you have any idea where I might find a comprehensive English manual?

Thanks
John

Hey, Speed old friend.
It has been a while since I've seen your posts. I had started to wonder. Glad to hear that you are being reunited with your Prius. Please send some more really cool pictures of car with beautiful Japanese landscape and buildings. Would love another one for the 2006 calendar.

(and see if you can get a job at Toyota world headquarters for the insider information)
