A question for European Prius owners (or soon-to-be owners): does Toyota offer door mouldings accessories for your Prius?

(We don't have that option in the U.S. or Canada.)

There are Toyota door and corner mouldings available as after-market accessories here in Switzerland:

Protection latérales
Fr. 140.--

Bordures de protection pare-chocs
Fr. 99.--

(USD1=Sfr. 1.27 now)

There are same items available in France, but no prices on the web.

Thank you Alex! Particularly for the pictures.

Perhaps by the time my Prius arrives, there'll be some way to mail order these from Europe (assuming they would fit an American/Canadian Prius.)

Or they'll start offering them as options for the '05 Priuses...

I think that if people start pinging Toyota dealers about these accessories they'll offer them in US pretty soon.

Mouldings are fully compatible as soon as body shell is exactly the same.

I'm a Prius owner in the Vancouver, Canada area. I got a white one so I wouldn't get lost in all the puddles here - the only one they had on the lot was brown-grey like the puddles, so they brought in a white one for me. That was almost three years ago. It's still a pleasure to drive and has had no trouble. Right now (spring weather) I'm getting about 5.3 km/100 litres.

Default No - I am here too

and live in the Netherlands and one of the first owners here since Feb.20. Just discovered this site, usually I dwell on the many Prius Yahoo newsgroups e.g.
http://autos.groups.yahoo.com/group/Prius-Europe/

but this one looks very nice too :P

Default New UK Owner

Greetings from Carlisle.

I've just put a deposit down on an ex demonstrator Black Prius T3 and expect to take delivery mid/late July when the dealer gets his replacement. The mileage is currently 1800 so probably 2500 by the time I get my hands on it, but saved £2400 from list price. After a lifetime in "normal" cars I'm looking forward to the experience of both a Hybrid and CVT transmission (last CVT I drove was a DAF in the 70's).

Will try it out on some of our roads through the high passes of the Lake District and report back on the experience.

One niggle is the lack of a towbar, I only tow a small garden trailer (about 5 cwt).
