Got my Prius 06 a couple of weeks ago. European version with nav. I can't seem to find the option (as described by many); Voice Recognition Guidance, on any of the setupscreens

I would dearly like to turn off the initial voice prompt for smoother handling when using voice commands.

I have seen several tips 'n tricks in here but none of them seem to work for me.
Maybe the european version differs?

It's possible, I beleive, to turn off the first "please, say..." and just get the beep when you press the voice button. I do not mind a chat now and then but Prius is a little to talky... Otherwise I am perfectly happy

Gunnar,

This is how I did it in my '06 (US).
Select MENU using switch on right of MFD
Select SETUP
Press double down-arrow at left bottom of display
Turn AUTO VOICE GUIDANCE (something like that) to OFF
That should do it

Bob

Thanks Bob
Finally it worked! :P
I tried them all as none of the options (in swedish) indicated any connection wtih the voice command system. The one I finally turned off was in translation: "Voice Guidance", which I thought would turn the guidance for the Nav system off.

Thanks again
Gunnar

Is there a way to turn off all the other voice commands that she "reads"? I would love to just be given a series of beeps, now that I know the sequence that is needed to get what I want. Thanks!
