Gen 1 recall ? 9/08/09

Any one heard of the recall for the 2001 Gen1 Prius's.??? Got something in the mail last week. Supposedly error code 203 and 204 showing up. Reading on I seem to remember it being about having the throttle body cleaned. symptoms include poor milage.

Not a recall, yes a special service campaign, yes it is an air-induction system cleaning. Free up to 12 5k mile odometer if you (or your car) has got the symptoms.

The one I got was an extension of the warranty to 10 Year 125,000 miles for Code P3190 3101 code 204 and P3191 & P3101 with code 205. since my 02 has well over 125K it didn't apply to me.

all I have to now is find that darn letter. Thought it was in the glovebox but noooooo.

It wasn't like a recall it was just and informational letter. So I don't think you need it for anything. Except it does say to present the letter at the time of service. That could just be because Toyota information dissemination really sucks.

It's not a recall. Keep the letter in your car with your manual, etc. If you ever have the problem, they will fix it for free.
