Friends: 0 | Yet another 2006 Prius HID headlight victim. I'm new on here, searched the links for info on replacement bulbs and how to replace them, but most links have expired. Does anyone have current info on bulbs and how to do it myself? |

Friends: 0 | Call Toyota headquarters and have Toyota do the repairs. There are hundreds of complaints about HID failures on the Prius, especially the '06. The phone number is (800) 331-4331. You should also file a complaint at HNTSA Office of Defects Investigation (ODI), File A Safety Complaint. |

Friends: 0 | I just returned from the dealer, they replaced the drivers side bulb, cost me $300. The dealer replaced both sides in March of 2008, they paid for it, but this time I paid for it. I have filed a complaint with the NTSA, and contacted Toyotas headquarters informing them of my experience.......... Here's one piece of weirdness, I'm curious if any other Prius owners have seen this. While I was waiting to have the car serviced yesterday, a salesperson approached me and gave me some paperwork. They offered me $14,000 to buy back my car. I wonder----- 1. Is it only for Prius owners? Maybe they can reclaim some used Priuses and make a profit selling used ones. 2. Is it for those with HID headlights? Maybe Toyotas way of getting those lemons off the market? It didn't occur to me at the time to ask these questions, but Monday, when they are open I am going to call them. I want to ask them----- 1. "My car has the HID headllights.....do you still want the car?" 2. "My Prius has the HID headlights, are you going to replace them or fix them somehow, or simply sell it to an unsuspecting customer who isn't aware there's a serious problem with the headlights"? Has Toyota offered anyone else out there to buy back their Prius? |

Friends: 0 | you paid $300 for a bulb change I went to my dealer asked if they could show me how to change the bulbs in the car so I could do it myself in emergencies since my bulb went out on the weekend when they weren't open. They were happy to show me and didn't charge me a dime! |

Friends: 0 | Here in America the dealers need to make a profit, and there's not much to gain from offering free repair lessons to customers. |

How hypocritical are you on this site full of cuts and cheats to gain?? What's the harm in showing a girl/guy how to change their headlights so they can change them as fast as possible in an emergency situation? It would be rude, cut throat and selfish not to help someone that asked, which is probably one of the big reasons the American economy is so wrecked right now. Too many people needing to get through that yellow light turning, be top dog, have the big car, big house, prettiest wife, sexiest husband, biggest tits... shall I go on? I grew up in that country for 24 years and watched it kill my mother. Don't get condescending with me. 'We' in the rest of the world (YES! there is a world outside the US OF A!) actually respect the right to freedom and do not walk all over each other abusing it or monopolizing it. You know it's really not surprising they charged you $300 with your attitude dripping with arrogance. I'm sure if you were pleasant and asked nicely they would have happily helped you. but i guess we'll never know. Last edited by priusNlondon; 10-26-2009 at 07:22 PM. | |
