But i do have the opinion that this is a "field changable" feature that toyota should be happy to offer ( yes i'm willing to pay). That car is damn good, but as with everything there is place for improvement. Another thing on my list is the "forced engine breake" when i lift my foot from the accelerator. As born up with SAAB twostrokw and freewheel i still find it natural to freewheel whenever i lift the accelerator. Speed reduction is what the breakes are used to ! I think i'll talk to some representatives in sweded. I'll report whetever information that pop's up. |

The reverse beeper disable worked for me no problem, first try. But when I tried the seatbelt version, when I unbuckled the seat belt I got the "b-on/b-off" thing again for the reverse beeper. I tried it a couple of more times, and still same result. Or perhaps I'm doing something wrong? Not a big deal because I always wear my seatbelt and it doesn't beep for very long if I don't buckle it right away for some reason.

My Car: Package: Nominated 0 Times in 0 Posts TOTM Awards: 0 Friends: 0 | I've had the same experience as Betshsu on my 2005 Prius. I turned off the reverse beep, no problem, but the seatbelt still beeps. However, I've only had the car for about 48 hours, so I'm not 100% sure what's "normal." The seatbelt only beeps 3 times now, and I think it used to go into hysterics with an increasing frequency of beeping. So maybe I did fix it. Also, does anyone know how to get rid of the "snowflake" in the display? I live in Northern Michigan, and it doesn't come as a surprise to us that it's cold out. PS: I love Betshsu's tag line! |

I easily turn off the reverse beep, but the seatbelt beeps everytime. Even when I fasten the seatbelt before powering the car, I get one long beep. Yeah, I know that there's a reason for the seatbelt beep, but as long as I've been driving I've been wearing seatbelts. It's not going to change just because Priapus doesn't beep at me. Interesting thing is that I have an '04, not an '05. I spent this past weekend trying all I could think of to defeat the push-button beeps but with no success. yet.

My Car: 2004 Prius Package: #9 Nominated 4 Times in 2 Posts TOTM Awards: 0 Friends: 16 | . . .and now, dear betshsu, you will notice the seatbelt beep every time you start your car. And it serves you right for displaying a picture of my cat, Nina. Who, by the way, you can see a picture of in my album. She's very well traveled and likes to scratch just about everything. Nina does look incredibly like Noel (the cat in the sink), particularly the picture of her curled up under the Christmas tree. The picture with the duck is too cute! | |

My Car: Package: Nominated 0 Times in 0 Posts TOTM Awards: 0 Friends: 0 | The reverse beep is, of course, truly annoying. I have made at least half a dozen attempts to eliminate following the directions above and have been unsuccessful in getting the "b on/b off" to appear. After I shift into R and pack to P and then let get of the Trip/ODO button it always displays "Trip A" (as it does under normal operation). I have a 2005 U.S. Prius. No one is sitting in the pasenger seat. I am careful to hold the Trip/ODO button for at least 10 seconds (long enough that the gas engine starts). I throw myself on the mercy of the experts here in asking for help. |
