Just returned from 1st road trip in our new 06. We loaded up the prius with stuff for 3 people and one week at the beach and horse races in Del Mar California. 800 miles and 45.9 mpg. Did my normal 70-80 mph on about 600 miles of Hyway and a couple hundred in the crazy world of San Diego traffic. Prius seems to be taking the place of the once mighty BMW 3 series as the car of choice with the San Diego "in crowd" Went to a Trader Joes ( upscale yuppie food store) and there were 3 Prius in the parking lot. All in all, a great trip, in a great car, to a great place, I envy all of you who live there !!!!!!!

I know 600 miles is a long way....but don't you wonder what your mileage might have been at 55-65? I'm thinking in the 50s easy.

And yes, there are quite a few Prii in San Diego. I never fail to see a few whenever I go out, no matter where I go.

Is it me, or has Two-Buck-Chuck gotten bad? It used to be "wow, I can't believe it's $1.99."

The last bottle I had was pretty dreadful. We moved upscale to the $2.99 Barefoot Cab.

In keeping with the thread, there really are a lot of Prii popping up down there. I ran the Rock n'Roll Marathon, and there were a load of them tooling around...

Actually, I haven't had any in quite a while. I just like the 'in your face, wine snobs!' :P aspect of it.

I'm thinking that if I would have been driving 55-65 on HyWay 5 I would have been run over and killed, or shot by some of those in a "bigger hurry than me" people.
2 Buck Chuck is 3 bucks everywhere but California. I brought a case home so I can add the $12.00 savings to the $42.00 I saved on gas for the trip. Oh Boy! that adds up to almost 1/2 the cost of one of my 6 nights in a Moon Light Beach Motel.........
