Community Conversation on Climate Change
December 7, 2006, 7:30 p.m.
Activity Room, Flint Memorial Library
.
Feeling the heat? Okay, maybe not this month. But 19 of the 20
hottest years ever recorded have come in the last 25 years, with 2005
a record year. Heat waves, floods, droughts, rising sea levels,
powerful hurricanes -- what's in store for us here in the Northeast?
.
Join your neighbors for an open discussion on climate change -- how
to separate fact from fiction, why we should care about it, and what
North Reading can do to address it. North Reading's John Rogers, a
clean-energy expert, will facilitate the conversation. Tracy
Sopchak, a member of Reading's Cities for Climate Protection
committee, will be on hand to talk about what that town is doing
about climate change.
.
The community discussion will be Thursday evening, December 7, at
7:30 p.m. in the library's Activity Room. Bring your questions, your
concerns, and your ideas. For more information, contact John at
978-664-6954 or NorthReadingClimate@Yahoo.com.
