Hello Prius fans!

My name is Andrew and I am working with Toyota to extend an invite Prius Car Club members to the 34th Annual Rolex Monterey Historic Races at Laguna Seca Raceway August 17th-19th in Northern California.

The Monterey Historic Race is one of the biggest 3-day automotive events in the country and people come from all over (even from overseas) to attend.

There will be plenty of sights to see and things to do courtesy of Toyota including a Car Club BBQ on Saturday evening and a "Race Of Legends" which features living legends of motorsports racing each other in Scion tCs.

Car clubs of all kinds will be in attendance. Toyota, Lexus, Scion, and even exotic brands like Ferrari, Porsche, Bugatti and more.

Toyota has been a sponsor of the Monterey Races for several years and Hybrid technology is a cornerstone of this year's theme so they are really hoping that Prius car clubs will come out to represent!

The Toyota Bonneville Prius will be making an apperance as well as Toyota's FT-HS Hybrid Sports Car Concept.

There will be a special infield "Car Corral" parking area for all car clubs that attend

Toyota will also be offering prizes for the following catagories:

-Best mileage (Specifically for Prius owners)
-Highest odometer reading
-Lowest mileage on pre-1987 cars
-Furthest distance traveled
-Most people who arrived in one car
-Best of Show (judging apperance, modifications, interior, and rare parts)
-Most original design/display setup
-Car Club with most members in attendance.

If you are a leader/member of a Prius Car Club and would like to attend please contact me at AndyZ@rwb-llc.com or stay tuned to this thread as I will be posting more information as it develops.

I hope to see you there!

Toyota giving awards for modifications? I thought you guys hated mods to Prius

If you offered some fuel economy award, you might draw an interesting subset of owners.

Wish I could come - would be great to see the Bonneville car with the ice box instead of front pax seat. Full of beers, yes?

First under the list of prizes is a prize for the Prius driver who had the best MPG for the trip to the event.

And when I say "modifications" I dont so much mean mods to the actual Prius software and technology, but style modifications. Like say a body kit, a nice set of wheels, a cool paint job, custom apholstered interior, added entertainment electronics, that sort of stuff.

You should really try to make it out to this event. Toyota throws an awesome party when this event rolls around

Come on Linds, Joe, Chris, anyone!!! We're small but mighty! We HAVE to go! Please! Chris, you'll win with your "cop car" set up! Joe, you'll win with the lowest mileage and babying your baby. Linds, you'll win for being the roughest and toughest! I'll win for the most miles in the shortest time! 8,000 in just four short months I'm ashamed to say. I don't want "Scooter" to have a short life!

We're SUPPOSED to be having a meet today, according to the board, but evidentally not. Let's FOR SURE plan for this!!!

Please reply and give me some hope.

Let's roll!
