Hello to MiHG members and friends,

The excitement of Hybridfest 2007 will carry over to our upcoming meet on Saturday August 25 at the Oak Creek Public Library. Based on emails, we anticipate many new members attending for the first time, coming from as far away as Illinois, Indiana, Minnesota and central Wisconsin. This will mean new friends, new relationships and new opportunities to show why our MiHG is the best in the nation. We’ll be having some of the best hypermilers in the country attending so this will be your chance to receive some great driver training.

For our first timers, here’s the way things generally work. We begin to gather in the Library parking lot about 9:15am to schmooze and show off our vehicles. If the weather is good, we’ll begin check-in and our VTP’s. At 10:00am we’ll begin to setup our room and by 10:20 we should be set to begin our introduction round robin. We’ll have our main session and then take a short break for snacks. We’ll then offer some updates, reviews, news, short subjects and door prizes and then break for lunch about 12:30pm. After our potluck lunch, we’ll begin our driver training sessions about 12:50pm and begin cleanup. Beverages and utensils will be supplied but we encourage all attending to bring some food to share. (Main dishes are greatly appreciated).

As we welcome our newest members we’ll be saying good bye to my son and co-founder Justin as he gets ready to head off to La Crosse. So if you’ve missed some meets lately, try to make this one, it’ll be great! We’ll also be raffling off an EV Switch for a 2nd gen Prius that will include free installation by our MiHG mechanic Ken Keuler.

Please feel free to bring any co-worker friend or relative if they are thinking about buying a hybrid because our meets are the best way to get accurate and real life info on hybrids. We have new vehicle brochures that they will be free to take back with them. We’ll also have spectacular door prizes, free handouts and interesting displays in addition to good camaraderie.
