There is a Central VA club that meets a couple time a year. And by that, I mean that we have met twice. There are a lot of owners in NoVa/DC/MD area, but to my knowledge they haven't organized a group. We had a few of them come down for our last meeting in Richmond in September.

EDIT: See the Local group in this area:
PriusChat Forums > Local Clubs > Local Prius Club Main Forum > VA - Northern VA & DC Metro

EDIT #2: I didn't mean to copy the links, but I'm glad that it happened.

When does this club meet? I would like to get something going for the Washington D.C. area.

If you're referring to the Central VA gang (it's not really an organized "club," per se), there is no set schedule. We just arranged meetups last spring and last fall. Not sure what we'll do this spring. Skwyre7 just welcomed a new family member this week and I'm sure he'll be pretty busy.

I don't know of a "Prius" club in the area per se, but there are typically a lot of prius owner / operators at the local EVA/DC (Electric Vehicle Association of greater DC) meetings. As a matter of fact, there were actually TWO plug-in conversions at the February meeting last week. For more info. check out Welcome to the Electric Vehicle Association of Greater Washington, DC. , the website isn't updated very often, but the meetings are always full of good info.

I've been to an EVA meeting before. Cool people. Anything cracking for '08?

AFAIK there are a couple of events happening for earth day this year. One on the Capitol Mall which will feature one of our member's plug-in prius conversion, and I believe that we will be in Baltimore's inner harbor at the science center with our solar-assisted commuter-class EV that was built by the good folks at MIT back in the 90's. We also have the annual Power of DC event at Hagerstown, MD; it's basically a test-n-tune event at the local drag-strip that features many member's EVs. Aside from that, there are tons of small, local events that we show up at, especially this time of year. If you would like any further info. just PM me and I can give you whatever updates you'd like.

I drive the North side of the DC beltway every day.

Honk if you see my tags! We'll do lunch.

Exclamation Re: Washington DC area club

****ATTENTION VA, MD, PA, etc. RESIDENTS****

Come out to the "Power of DC", May 31 - June 1. We will have an EV auto-cross on Saturday, hybrids are welcome to participate. This event is sanctioned by the SCCA (Sport Car Club of America), your times will count. Also, on Sunday, come to the Mason-Dixon drag way for a NEDRA (National Electric Drag Racing Association), sanctioned test - n - tune featuring many EVs of all shapes and sizes. For more information, check out the Power of DC website at 2008 Power of DC or the EVA/DC website at Welcome to the Electric Vehicle Association of Greater Washington, DC.. I will be there with the "Grey Gadget" and a great gaggle of geeks. Come and see the future of transportation.
