Phoenix 6th Meet up

Hey guys, sorry to chime in late! I work in downtown Phoenix, and live in south Scottsdale, so getting up north after work on a Friday (even with the HOV lane) is a serious drag. (I-17 and the 101 is like halfway to Flagstaff for me!) So, I'll miss you for a Friday night meeting up north.

I could go for a road trip for Pie next Saturday!

Any interest in meeting at the Downtown Market on Saturday morning some time? I try to make it on a regular basis to pick up some fresh veggies. There are multiple food vendors; I'm addicted to these carmelized onion and brie quesadillas and homemade chai at a vendor there! There is also usually live music of some kind as well. So, it will give us a little more to do...

I just talked to a friend, who is another Prius owner (an 03), and she said that the pie place is all aces! She'd love to join us, but can only make it next Sunday. Not that we need to work around her schedule, but I wanted to include her valued endorsement of the pies.

Thanks for the endorsement on the pies, Chris! It seems like we have one person from each suburb in this group, so it's really difficult to find a 'central' location.

I'm guessing the Downtown market you mentioned is at Scottsdale's Craftsman's Court, 5th Avenue & Marshall Way?

Well, last time we sat around inside where it was warm and talked about cars for an hour while having dinner, then stood around outside, freezing, for another half hour talking about cars.

Next weekend is Superbowl and FBR open, so traffic will probably be terrible during that weekend, and I know H2photo and probably some other football/golf fans can't make it then.

I like the idea of a road trip, but the inner treehugger in me also likes the idea of carpooling. The only thing better than a caravan of Prii is a caravan of 4-occupant Prii I'm all for a day trip - I'd love to do Payson when it warms up a bit. I guess we can discuss this at our get together.

So how about this - we meet Friday (that's tomorrow for the chronologically challenged) at In-N-Out at Desert ridge, and we'll go from there. More of an informal meeting than anything. If no one shows, I'll deny it was a meeting and try again later!

Actually, I'm talking about the Downtown Phoenix Public Market, not the Scottsdale one:

Ironically, I haven't gone to the Old Town Scottsdale market because I loathe parking around there even though it is less than 5 miles from my house. I need to check it out sometime. The Phoenix market has it's own parking lot.

I forgot about that Super Bowl stuff next weekend! Oy! I'm going to have to stock up on movies and shut myself in! ;-) LOL.

Im going to try to make it tomorrow. Im not sure what time I'll get done with work, we haven't been finishing till 7ish lately, (damn work!) My hubby wont be making it this weekend either (his grandparents are in town & is going to be in Chandler). *sigh* Never fails! & yes next weekend starts yet another crazy time for me, so I won't be doing anything but working

Their club is sponsored by the Mini dealership and was established before he joined it. You're right, after a while just hanging out gets boring.

The downtown market sounds like a good choice for a Saturday morning. Maybe one Sat in Feb after the toilet bowl?

I'll try to make it to In-N-Out tonight but I'm not sure yet.

Sorry all, my wife drives the car and works late, weekdays are difficult. Not sure if my TDI would be welcome.
