Wayne (Firengineer) came to my home with this daughter and installed my EBH for me. I would like to have the EV mod done though. | |

In other news, and not strictly New England related, everyone should give this a quick look and decide if you can free up a little time the weekend of Jun 9-10 to go rally in NJ! Short notice, but the event coordinators are still looking for more participants. . _H* |

Guess I'm slack out of my own word. I took the liberty to do the mod yesterday and I'm happy to report that I successfully completed the EV mod. I did run into some problem on the PIN. The wire didn't secure correctly and loosen off when the PIN inserted to the ECU plug. I have to find a small needle and poke the pin back out of the plug. The installation took about 3 hours as I struggled half of the time figuring out how to get the pin out. I also run into some problem that I didn't push the PIN far enough to get a good contact. After a few test drive, I solved the problem. I'm confident that I can do this mod much more faster now. Maybe less than 1 hour? Here is what I use 1. 1] momentary push button. Shack Catalog #: 275-1566 2. 1 @ Crimp-On Telephone/Alarm Connectors . Shack Catalog #: 64-3081 3. 2 @ 6ft 24 gauge wire. 4. 1 @ 9-Position Female Crimp D-Sub Connector. Shack Catalog #: 276-1428 (only use the contact PIN) Tools needed : 1. Phillips screwdriver 2. Soldering equipment 3. Nose pliers 4. Drills set 5. Work Lights

My Car: Package: Nominated 0 Times in 0 Posts TOTM Awards: 0 Friends: 0 | Eep, sorry guys, I got back from NJ and it's been pretty heads-down trying to catch up so I haven't gotten back to any of you. Next week should be more open. . So last night I was tooling around town on a bicycle, and by chance happened to duck into a parking lot to discover that there's a bunch of vintage rod enthusiasts who meet there EVERY THURSDAY! One guy said that the [large] parking lot is usually *packed*. Yesterday was overcast so I guess some of them were staying home, but even as I finished looking around and left, more of those big ol' rumblers were still arriving. . All they do is show up in their vehicles, hang out, and schmooze. Hundreds of them, and I'm sure this scene is duplicated in many towns across NE and beyond on warm summer nights. C'mon, folks, if they can spend most of an evening BSing about the crate 390 they're rebuilding, why shouldn't hybrid folks be able to get together and recount that week's beautiful half-mile warp stealth glides while installing a couple more EV buttons? We'd even make less noise and avoid annoying the nearby restaurant owners. . _H* |
