Default Monte Carlo-style Rally at the Tour de Sol – May 13-14, 2005

Info by: Anissa Sanborn, NESEA, 413-774-6051 ext 30.

Announcement:
Monte Carlo-style Rally and 100-mpg Challenge
May 13-14, 2005 to the Tour de Sol in Saratoga Springs, NY
WIN $5,000 FOR BREAKING THE 100-MPG BARRIER!

Advanced vehicle owners are invited to join the Monte Carlo-style Rally, a new competition that ends at the 2005 Tour de Sol, the sustainable energy and transportation festival, held at Saratoga Springs, NY this year. Rally participants compete for up to $10,000 and 35 awards for the most fuel-efficient production-hybrid or biodiesel vehicles. $5,000 of this money will go to the most fuel-efficient vehicle that breaks the 100-MPG barrier over the course of the 150-mile rally.

To participate, advanced vehicle owners must join at one of the numerous starting sites around the US and Canada. After they have topped off and had their fuel tank sealed, Rally participants must drive to the finish line at Saratoga Springs, NY by noon on May 14. There, they will get a free fill up with gasoline or biodiesel, and Northeast Sustainable Energy Association (NESEA) officials will measure the fuel used, and miles driven. Rally participants will then join the Tour de Sol display at Saratoga’s Spring Auto Show to showcase their vehicles and participate in the awards ceremony. www.TourdeSol.org
