Default New (At Least to Us) Prius!

Ok, I'm now an "official" Prius owner.

We took the drive to go check out the 2002 Prius with 65K miles today. The car was way beyond what we expected--seriously, the car, both on the inside and out, looks like it could pass for new. And we got navigation, cruise control, and side air bags too (I can't remember what the fourth option was that year right now, so I'm not sure whether we have it or not!)

Drove it about 220 miles home, on very hilly interstates (at least for TX) and with wind, and still got just under 45 mpg. Not too shabby, considering I am a newbie Prius driver.

I have a whole lot of learning to do about the car, and I can't wait.

Linda

Thumbs up Re: New (At Least to Us) Prius!

Hi Linda and congratulations! I'm a new 2002 Prius owner too! I got mine mid-January with just under 50k. Mine was also like new inside and out. It's amazing. I'm getting about 38-40 mpg with mostly city driving. It goes up when I get more freeway driving in. Panthera

Smile Re: New (At Least to Us) Prius!

Congrats LindaL and Panthera on your new Prius. Sounds like the previous owners really took care of them. For a car with only 60K and 50K (2002) I think that is very low in my standards.

Enjoy the car.

I'm curious - what did you pay for the car?

To answer the questions asked:

My Prius is Silver Strata Metallic, and I paid $12,988 for the car (it was a trade-in at a Toyota dealership).
