Friends: 0 | Hi. I paid 25995 for an 08 package 6- but had to settle for silver, only color that seems to be available in New York right now. I sent an email to every dealer I could find within a 5 hour radius of my home and got several willing to match my price. Not hard to bargain if you are willing to hop on a train to pick up your new car. Whatever you do DONT EVER tell a dealer that you are desperate to buy, better to act very casual about it and walk away if needed. I bought through Atlantic Toyota on LI. |

Friends: 0 | I am new and still quoting the best price, this morning ,went to Autoplaza, brooklyn and a salesman asked me drive a brand new one to go home in blue color with package #3,non-touring window sticker price shows 25k something( forgot exact amount but below 26K),He mentioned it is TODAY's price only.then I went to Bayridge Toyota to shop around and was told below 26K with package #3( few hundred bucks more than AutoPlaza),but MUST wait 8-12 weeks, but price included MV fee,and tax etc... I don't know is a good deal or not, I am expectating negotia with him in this price but upgrade to package #5.he aslo told me there is no way to sell Prius at invoice price.not that much room to give out any discount( at least now in Bay ridge Toyota).and Now ,they don't even have one Prius in showroom, hehe,Prius is Too Hot now.thanks! Friends: 1 | Hi, RhythmDoctor, I hope your dealer(s) hold to their word & NOT try to put any "dealer-installed" options on your car to drive up their profit, but be aware (if you're not already) that the port (where the boat offloads the Priuses) often loads up the cars with PIO (Port Installed Options) to help guarantee that the dealers get additional profit. Once installed at the port, they will NOT be removed for you, as the dealer must pay Toyota for the car "as equiped" when it comes off the trailer onto their lot. However, if the dealer is a good one & he knows your desires ahead of time & he transmits your request (specific to the s/n of the car(s) they designated for you) to the port before the car comes off the boat or before it goes through processing at the port, all the noirmal PIO's can be left off (or only any specific one you may be interested in can be added alone if you like). Friends: 0 | paid 22,072 for a gray package 2 in boston on april 30, floor mats included. There was then an additional ~$400 in documentation and title, plus 5% sales tax. They also gave me $400 towards my downpayment (so i guess the car was then 21,672) for being a new college grad. |

Edit: I think I'm safe. I just went back to the email quote, and here's the beginning of it: Here are all the options for a package 2 Prius: We are currently selling this vehicle for $22,598.00, plus $118.00 for a temp. tag and Dealer processing. Factory Installed Accessories: FE HG HZ Port Installed Accessories .....: CF DK It makes it pretty clear that the only PIOs are carpeted floor mats (CF) and preferred owner's portfolio (DK). I'll just have to make sure I don't get hit with any dealer options. I did get some unwanted dealer options on my 1986 Acura. When I went to pick it up they asked me if I would like their optional center console ("no"), rear mudflaps ("no") or wheel well trim ("no"). Then they confessed that they had already installed them hoping I would want them, but would not charge me for them. The center console was great, but after several years I realized that the wheel well trim trapped water which caused serious rusting in the body. By then it was too late to do anything about it. Friends: 1 | Hi again, RhythmDoctor, If the boat is late or the port hasn't processed your car yet, your dealer should be able to look at your VIN # & prevent anything from being added. Things like body side moulding & satellite radio don't go in at the port---those are usually only dealer-installed items. As far as I know, PIO's are only : floor mats, cargo mat, cargo net, wheel lock lugs, clear rear bumper guard, folio (for your manuals), maybe the glass breakage sensor, & an overpriced first aid kit. I may have forgotten something or they may have added other things for the port to install since I had my refuse/accept list for my 2005 purchase. I hope this eases your concerns & that your dealer still has time to intervene. Ken (in Bolton,Ct) Last edited by Ct. Ken V; 05-18-2008 at 04:41 PM.
