I got 4 weeks to go

I put a deposit down on a 2008 Prius to get on the list at my local dealership (Acton Toyota in Acton, MA) and was told that it would probably be mid-August before I get one. I contacted Falmouth Toyota in Bourne, MA two days ago and put a deposit down as well as they said that they only had a six week wait. I emailed my salesperson at Acton this AM to let him know I had a put a deposit down at another dealership and, son of a gun, he called me a little while ago and let me know that they had that was allocated to them in one of the colors I wanted and with the HG package I wanted. He says it should be here in 4 weeks.

Wow - 4 weeks from allocation to delivery? I was hoping it would be less. I might get the phone call next week...

It was supposed to be 2-3 months, and the salesguy told me that if I had waited until now to place the order the wait would be 6+ MONTHS. Crazy stuff.

But once the dealer got the allocation (i.e., found out which cars on the incoming boat were his) I though it was only a couple of weeks until they were in and in the hands of the new owners.

Actually got an update from him yesterday. It's supposed to be in on June 23, so I've got my fingers crossed.
