If you are mostly driving short trips of only a few miles, you will see a bigger hit. With mostly highway driving the impact will be less. For example my commute is only 4 miles on suburban roads so my mpg dropped from 48ish in summer to 37ish in winter here in DC, but for highway driving I was getting approx. 50 mpg all year long. How would you describe the bulk of your driving in terms of trip length and highway vs. local roads? |
