I'm not exactly sure, but I've been told by more than one dealer that they can't sell a car with more than 125K on the odometer. It's alwasy been presented to me as a matter of state law, but despite searching I can't find a statute that says this. I'm going to have talk to my neighbor who's a manager at a Chevy dealership.

This may all be a polite way of saying we don't want to deal with the older cars, but I've heard that same line very consistently.

Check the fine print on this "lifetime" warranty. No dealership could take that kind of hit (fix every problem on every auto sold for the life of the customer!) unless they either:

1. Work in the price somewhere else
(or)
2. The warranty is VERY limited

Edit: Here's the published warranty info which states that it covers limited drivetrain only (factory warranty is 5yr-60k). Also, the warranty work can only be done at Greensburg Toyota - you can have your regular maintenance work done anywhere though. I'd really love to see the fine print on this puppy!

i got a chance to read the fine print, and it actually said that you can use the warranty at any place. i suppose the one catch is that you have to keep meticulous records-- you have to keep every piece of paper related to every single thing that you do to the car. like oil changes, everything. if you don't, it's void.

my mom and i did put down a deposit today there. i was told that "they are coming in sooner that the wait time we told people-- so sooner than 12-14-16 weeks or whatever."

... which means it could come in in like a month. or like four. hahaha.
