Wait Times going up?

Mine is due this week but the dealer here in the Dallas area told me they had a meeting with factory reps this week and were told they are expecting the lead times to be 4 months or longer. They have had a surge in orders. Do not know if this is true or not.

Probably. I'm on the waiting list as of last wednesday and the wait time was 4-6 months. I doubt any new ones ('09) will be arriving in till at least mid September or early october.

And he said that the '08s are very hard to come by now, since they stoped production on them last month I think.

Wow. I got mine in mid July.I received one of the last 08s??? So if you are on the waiting list and they stop making 08s you automatically are on the list for 09s, I suppose, right?

Zippy, I guess, my salesman said they weren't taking any 08 orders anymore, only for 09s.

I live in the Kansas City area and was told by many area dealerships that the wait is 6 months and there are bookoo orders. However, my persistence paid off and I got offered one like I wanted and it arrived in 2 weeks. I was happy about that! Of course there is no dealing or haggling over the price but at least it was not inflated over MSRP.

Hey everyone! I'm new here and after reading about all the wait times I'm feeling pretty lucky. Without calling ahead I walked onto my dealer lot last Saturday and asked if I could test drive a Prius. I left that afternoon with my new car (2008 red Prius #2 package). Paid MSRP. I've really been enjoying my commute to work this week.
