Hi Everyone,

As a "Newbie" and "waiting to be" Prius owner (hopefully a 2009 Touring - Silver Pine Mica - Package 2 with bisque leather upgrade ) this seems like a great way to learn who else is out here... I am 49, Realtor, overweight and five foot, ten inches.... my husband is 48, almost six foot eleven inches and also hefty in build.

An earlier post stated that the Prius is easy to get in and out of, This is true and important to me with the amount of times per day that I am in and out of a vehicle ...Add in not being young like Meagan, or skinny, and having knees that are in less than perfect condition - I was very pleased.

My annual mileage runs from 50k to 80k depending on clients and their criteria. Both the front and backseat offer sufficient leg room for both myself and Greg, my husband. Greg will most likely recline the front seat to ride comfortably-which is the same thing he has to do in most any other car.

Simon, a client turned friend, shared his joys of Prius ownership with me after we pulled up for our first meeting outside of a home. Me in my Toyota Tundra CrewMax ( which is an AWESOME TRUCK ) and he in his Prius...

After several "talks" about savings, spending, accounting...I was at a dealership placing my order... Simon was pleased to have another "convert" and I was tickled at my anticipated fuel savings.

Greg and I are looking foward to meeting and making new friends and aquaintances on the Prius Chat forum...

btw...the question was posed in a prior post asking if some of the older Prius drivers were technology oriented and get on the computer to chat...

For me, No to the technology, for Greg YES to technology, for both of us- Yes to search engines and exploration of unanswered questions via email ,myspace to keep up with our children.... and of course CRAIGSLIST for added value with household items.

The dealership hopes to have my Prius in October or November - signed up early July... Traded in the truck ...ouch... as the gas prices climbed...it was a cut your losses and move on deal...currently driving a 09 Corolla until the Prius comes in ( we both can fit in it - although a "bit" squishy and funny to see ...lol...)

We ride to Church together in it most of the time, and Greg has to unfold as he gets out, but we get 32.3 average with out doing much to conserve fuel. Toyota makes a great vehicle...If I were not a Realtor and a bit shorter, this would have been a good long term vehicle.

My Toyoya Dealership is wonderful and has been great to work with...w/2008 MSRP on the Prius even though it will come in as a 2009- and a great deal when trading the Corolla back to them... Don McGill Toyota in Katy Texas..ask for Sam Chau-Internet Sales Specialist...he is a WONDERFUL human being, a great guy, and very low key...no pressure-just good old fashioned service. He and John Loving the Sales Manager there are both AMAZING

...I was hoping this was a "younger and cool" car...lol and that I had hip taste .... so much for dreaming... oh well...

During my last visit to the dealership for an oil change, a gentleman who was most likely in his late sixties to early seventies who was taking delivery of a BARCELONA RED PRIUS and grinning ear to ear....It was great to just stand in the background and watch him light up with joy. Smiling from ear to ear...

Be Blessed..... Erin

I know you will enjoy your new Prius, but I'm a little worried about your husband getting in and out of the Prius. I don't have that problem (short), but I've heard both sides of being too small for tall or larger men. I will pray that everything turns out the way you both would want it too.
