Wow that is sad. Why do people have a superiority complex about the type of car they drive? Must be nice to have so much spare time on your hands that for fun you troll other car forums and make stupid posts.

5 MPG? The buses here in NYC get lower than that... but they move a lot of people.

How much are you spending on gas and how many miles do you drive per day?

Like you, I like to mod my car too and get the most of out it. For you, it is probably power at the wheel. For me it is the smooth electric operation, quietness and high MPG. Different stroke for different folks right?

Some of the visual mod I made.

You can see my progress in these threads.

Woodtrim and 17" Rims

Chrome Pillars and Chrome Door Handles

As for operation, pulse & glide tick, grill blocking and plain good driving technique are documented (video taped) below. I was able to beat EPA MPG numbers even with fully loaded car (helped gf moved in).

This is a cool video demonstrating the quietness and smoothness of EV mode. I recorded with the camera mounted on the hood so you'll hear everything.

Went 1.5 miles with the gas engine off in a traffic congestion. Pretty amazing stuff.

Showcase of the not commonly known feature of the Prius. Vacuum bottle that stores hot liquid and re-release it on cold start ups. No other production cars/trucks in the world has this technology. Slick!

Averaged 70 MPG during rush hour traffic. It would've been boring but I had a game to play with.

A display extreme "tall gearing" in a Prius. Amazing considering Prius never shift a gear.

Helped my gf move in and document the whole typical NY traffic and averaged 70 MPG in a fully loaded car.

This video has a section where Prius got 30-35 MPG while going uphill (up the bridge). No gas used while going down... so average is 60-70 MPG.

Demonstration of the Smart Key System. Get in, buckup and drive off in less than 10 seconds.

I'm sure there must be some kind of psychological reason why people treat the type of car like it is the only valid car (or truck) to own. Its probably very similar to why they root for a particular NFL or NBA team.

It is amazing that PC gets so many trolls. I also belong to a Ford Explorer site, but I would never bother going to a Chevy site and telling them their cars are crap. Its not really my business and I really don't have time for that.

People join and post on PC for the same reason they would on any other automotive site: to exchange information with other people who are interested in the same type of car.

I"m not picking on you, Jay, just quoting. So don't take it personally.

So far, this thread has been relatively cordial and 5MPG has done nothing to insult or attack any PriusChat member. At least, he has not done so here on this server in this forum. What he does on the Viper forum is between him and those Moderators.

Let's not be the ones to initiate the personal attacks. Again, what was said on another forum - even if quoted here - does not warrant a personal attack. Additionally, PriusChat has, in the past, been victim to groups of individuals from another forum ganging up and posting all sorts of silly things. The last thing we need is to start egging on the members of another forum (and we already know that they have the direct URL to this thread so don't think you are not being watched).

One last thought, about those gang-attacks: Danny personally contacted the Admins of the offending forum members and they were all lifetime banned for making their host forum look bad. He holds no qualms about doing the same for PriusChat members who strike out. That's just my friendly Moderator piece of advice.

I didn't attack anyone, merely commented on the OP's actions and asked a question. However, I understand where you are coming from and won't put anymore fuel on the fire.
