Unhappy jmstwice

I have a 2008 Prius that I bought last spring. We love the car and are very happy with it. However, I have a 'maintenance required' warning light lit up on my dashboard. The manual says I need an oil change. So far, I have had the oil changed twice, but the darn light won't shut off! Is there a way I can reset it when I change the oil?

look in your manual or do a search on this site.

Wow! my wife looked it up on a different website called 'how to do just about everything'
To reset the maintenance required light usually requires a trip to the dealer. To avoid this expense do the following:
1. while power is on, change the odometer from 'trip' to ODO by pushing the ODO/Trip button
2. turn off the car
3. push and hold the button and start the car while continuing to hold the button. In a few seconds, the odometer reading will change to '-----------", then wait for several seconds.
4. When the odometer mileage appears again, eureka! the maintenance light is gone!!! Now you are all set until you need to change the oil again.
