Need your suggestions regarding Prius II

Hello all,

Thank you for making this great forum. I have been following the threads for some time and it is very informative.I will hopefully be joining the Prius family soon.

I had been to Lou Fusz (Kirkwood / Saint Louis) dealer yesterday to check on a Prius II Base Package (Black / Grey) and he offered me the car for 23050 and a dealer special package (Few additional stuff - Paint protecter, Nitrogen on Tires etc) for 280 (23430 total including Admin charges).

Can you advise if this price is reasonable? I checked out couple of other dealerships and they are more than this. But I would need your advise on this price before I go ahead and book the car.

Also has anyone purchased Prius from this dealer and I would appreciate if you have any feedbacks. The Salesman certainly did look polite and friendly.

That sounds reasonable to me, if I were you, I would jump on that deal, gas is going to go back up soon, and the Prius'es Prii? will be all gone.

I treat Prius as both singular and plural, just like the plural of Dear is Dear.

Thank you 'That_Prius' for the quick response. Should I be negotiating anymore? On the Special Dealer Package, the sales man started with 480 but he reduced it to 280. 
 
  I have decided to buy the car and want to book as soon as possible :D .  I also want to be safe and the price be reasonable.

No, you can probably get a base gen 3 for that price!

'SZ92' , thank you for the response. I just want to make sure I understood the response correctly . That 'No' is to say, 'need not negotiate' aint it? ( The car that I am looking to book is a Gen III base package.

I would mention bringing down the price, sometimes, you can even tell a little white lie and say "well, there is a Toyota dealer a few miles away from here with the same prius for less, maybe I should go there to get the better price..." I bet he will go down even lower!

All,

I just spoke to the dealer and he said the car might be in dealership tomorrow. Keeping my fingers crossed - hopefully I'll like it .. I am going to ask him for price reduction or some extras (remote start) etc when I pickup, not sure how much he is going to entertain that..

I am also thinking of fitting in a sun-roof after a month or so.. The dealer is ready to do that for 1050 $s..
