Friends: 3 | From looking at some of the recent purchases at Nissan Altima Hybrid - GreenHybrid - Hybrid Cars, I found out there's a $3250 incentive (at least in my zip code, 95120) on the NAH. I confirmed it via West Nissan Altima Hybrid Featured Offers - Request Quote - Find A Dealer - Nissan USA. For someone looking for a medium sized sedan (no trunk pass thru and it's not a hatchback) w/198 hp but a little worse mileage than the TCH, the NAH is definitely one to consider w/the above incentive and the $2350 federal tax credit. |

Friends: 22 | Wow, that works out to a very cheap price, especially if you get some or all of the federal tax credit. |

Friends: 0 | yeah, the NAH with the cash back comes to the same price as the prius III and the tax credit brings it to the same price as the honda insight. If it had slightly better mileage I would be all over it. |

Friends: 3 | Hmm, is that really worth it? I just priced a new 09 on Edmunds w/options H01, U01, and F01 and the TMV came out to $27916. Subtracting out $2350 for Federal tax credit yields $25566. |

Friends: 3 | Nissan's put another $500 incentive (but only until Sept. 7th) on top of the $3250 incentive. See West Nissan Altima Hybrid Featured Offers - Request Quote - Find A Dealer - Nissan USA. With such big incentives and the $2350 Federal tax credit, I wonder why it's doing so badly compared to last year (http://www.hybridcars.com/hybrid-sal...dashboard.html). People don't cross shop it vs. the HyCam or FFH? It's not marketed well/at all? Limited supply? Sleazy dealers who will only sell w/a markup or won't budge on price due to the incentives? Many went for a Prius or Insight or FFH instead? FWIW, I think I've seen no ads on TV for the NAH in a long time.

The FFH offers everything the NAH offers, but the FFH offers more. Both handle very well, both are the fastest sub 50k hybrid. The FFH starts to leave the NAH behind when it comes to tech (Bliss, Ford sync, separate nav and back up camera packages), the interior (the FFH instrument cluster is a beauty and ambient lighting) and Fuel economy and engine refinement. The FFH is also available through out the USA. Without the rebate they FFH and NAH are always the same price for all packages, but the FFH gives more the money (bliss & sync & Moonroof). The Rebates aren't well known unless you know where to look or you stop in and ask a knowledgeable sales person. | |
