Does anyone know if a list out there? I think not. I think Jeanne had something go kablooey with her priuschat account and that might be why the list never got going. Either way, there is no one holding a list that I'm aware of. One needs to either bookmark the forum or, the smart thing to do is to subscribe to the NJ - New Jersey forum (at it's root level) and get email notifications of topics that get added herein. Those would include events we attempt to make happen. To do that, go here: http://priuschat.com/NJ-New-Jersey-f70.html Click on Forum Options (about 1/3 down the page on the right side) and scroll to "Subscribe to this forum". You'll then receive email notifications when a new topic is added. I believe that's technically correct and is the best way to be advised of the all the new pearls of wise posts we add within our humble little home. I just got my bike rack so I'm a little giddy. heh heh -D |

I went with the Thule Roadster 2-bike version. (I have the Coastal 2" hitch.) Thule seems to be most popular in the bike stores down here; no one seemed to have Yakima brand. So the choice came down to 2 vs 4 bike and then Roadster vs. Parkway models and for some reason I thought the extra $50 for the Roadster was worth it. The Roadster model has quick release levers that collapse the rack so you could gain access to the hatch. This is good for me since it lessens the probably that I'll break a nail. It also makes it easy to load very long, oblong objects. Well, at least it will for me and I seem to have an occasional need to do that. Now I'm wondering if that was the right decision. I have a woman's bike so I might not be able to mount the bike on the rack without buying a $30 adapter bar for the bike which I'm not thrilled about. I see the Parkway model compensates for this. The Roadster model doesn't seem to have that feature. My fault for not doing my homework thoroughly and relying on a not-so-knowledgable salesperson. We'll see how it works out after morning tea. ![]() | |

I went the Yakima route (online), Bighorn 4, the also have the Coastal 2" receiver. I haven't put any bikes on it yet, since we bought it primarily for transporting skis/snowboards (had to buy the Yakima Skihitch attachment for this, it attaches to the bike rack). This has worked great the few times I've used it (two snowboards and one set of skis). The bike rack also has the fold-down feature, but the clearance is great enough that I don't need to use it to open the hatch. I had a great experience with the online vendor - discount for online order, free shipping (over $100, not hard to do with bike racks), IMMEDIATE delivery - I think I received the items within 1 or 2 days! For anyone interested, they are at http://www.orsracksdirect.com - I have no affiliation with them, they just did a great job. I will be purchasing a hitch cargo box or platform soon and they will definitely be one of the places I compare prices.
