Tour to the Shore 2008

Please check out the 2008 Tour to the Shore as announced by the EEVC on their page below. I think it would be great if we could get a good representation from the NJ Chapter. Perhaps those who don't want to join the competition could at least come to the rest stop (TBD) for lunch. I believe the actual rally is June 7 and I will contact Mr. Perry to confirm. (He's my high school Physics teacher so I can't bring myself to calling him "Ollie".)

As some of you may recall, in the Hybrid Class last year I tied for 3rd while Mr. Hobbit, Sir took 2nd to Meredith's Honda Insight.

My navigator's health has deteriorated somewhat this year so his participation is uncertain. If he isn't going to be up for it then I (as the Local) will offer my services as Navigator.

The lunch stop is The Oyster Creek Inn. The directions below are from the EEVC rally directions. Please consider stopping in for lunch. The race "starts" at 9:00 but I don't know when I'll get there. If I know before Friday that you'll be there, I'll wait. This is also the opportunity to meet Hobbit.

Turn Left onto E Moss Mill Rd/ Rte 561 Alt. go 2.6 Mi
(You should wind up at the funky Oyster Creek Inn. The bar opens at 12 Noon.
Food service is at 1 PM, but I am told that you can get it earlier. It should be delicious.
The dining room which opens at 4:00 has sensational seafood.)

Report your time and

mileage to the timer and pig out at the bar or bring your own.

I just got a 2008 prius Package 2. I always down at the shore on weekends-seaside hts, ortley beach but i reside in nyc. any gatherings there. Also i would like to take my car thru its first car wash. I am real nervous. Should I drive it in. What should I avoid.? thxs sandy
